John studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College, where he obtained a BSc and later a Diploma in Architecture.

He is registered with ARB, and a member of the RIBA.  He also became registered to practise in France (CROAIF), Germany (HESSEN), and USA (NCARB).

John practised with his father Richard until his father’s retirement in 1988.  During this period he concentrated on the design of a number of important projects.  These include:

In 1984, John set up Seifert International with Malcolm Noakes to work overseas.  The firm undertook a variety of projects including:

In 1987, John helped establish Seifert Asia in Singapore with Peter Von Selky.  The firm has undertaken a variety of projects in the area including:

Tourist masterplan for Sentosa Island

 Condominiums in Malaysia and Jakarta

 

In 1998, John formed a partnership with Mauro Mujica in Washington DC.  He designed Marina Towers in Atlantic City and various high-tech office projects in the Washington area.

 

In 1991, John founded John Seifert Architects Ltd which he has since managed with his five fellow directors. The Practice has worked in the UK and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  Recent projects include:

In 1993, John set up a branch of the Practice in Frankfurt with Achim Jaeger.  The firm has worked throughout Germany and in support of German companies in developing countries.  Projects include:
