John M Seifert

John studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College, where he obtained a BSc and later a Diploma in Architecture. He is registered with ARB, and a member of the RIBA.  He also became registered to practise in France (CROAIF), Germany (HESSEN), and USA (NCARB). John practised with his father Richard until his father’s retirement in 1988.  During this period he concentrated on the design of a number of important projects.  These include: 100 Chalk Farm at the Roundhouse Cutlers Gardens for Greycoat Estates 90 Long Acre (later 1st Chicago House) for MEPC LTE Headquarters Lillie Bridge Surrey Docks masterplan and shopping centre for Lysander                          (Competition win)  Novotel Waterloo Sceptre Court Tower of London for Hammerson  Glengall Bridge London Docklands for LET (Competition win) London City Airport  In 1984, John set up Seifert International with Malcolm Noakes to work overseas.  The firm undertook a variety of projects including:  The Banque Misr Tower, Cairo (Competition win)  Sheraton Hotel, Lagos  Continental Square Paris Airport Hilton Hotel Paris Airport (Competition win)  Antwerp Hilton renovation  Eschborn Business Park, Germany  Wilson Station, Prague  Tour Manhatten refurbishment, Paris In 1987, John helped establish Seifert Asia in Singapore with Peter Von Selky.  The firm has undertaken a variety of projects in the area including: Tourist masterplan for Sentosa Island  Condominiums in Malaysia and Jakarta In 1998, John formed a partnership with Mauro Mujica in Washington DC.  He designed Marina Towers in Atlantic City and various high-tech office projects in the Washington area. In 1991, John founded John Seifert Architects Ltd which he has since managed with his five fellow directors. The Practice has worked in the UK and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  Recent projects include:  Royal Victoria Docks hotels Asda and Dales stores Novotel Tower Hill Carlton Inter-Continental, Cannes (Competition win) Holiday Inn, Disney World Paris (Competition win ) Lombard Street offices for NatWest (Competition win) RAC, later Siebel HQ, Egham (Competition win) Bridgend PFI Prison for Securicor consortium Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos  Middlesex Street offices and hotel, London  Marriott hotel, Stockholm (Competition win) Secure Training Centre, Milton Keynes (Competition win)  Hilton Great Western, Paddington Pearl Island Resort, Emirates  Marienbad masterplan and hotels, Czech Republic  Aldgate office tower and hotel Regents Plaza Marriott and apartments In 1993, John set up a branch of the Practice in Frankfurt with Achim Jaeger.  The firm has worked throughout Germany and in support of German companies in developing countries.  Projects include: Westhafen masterplan (200,000 m²) and offices, Frankfurt (Competition win) Inter-Continental Hotel, Cologne (Competition win) GE Training Centre, Aachen Constanz Hotel and Apartments Mercur Hotel, Eschborn Hilton Kiev, Ukraine Imperial Hotel, Dubrovnik Radisson SAS Frankfurt (Competition win) Sparkasse Wiesbaden Heidelburg Hotel and Conference Centre In 2002, John formed Bevis Seifert Interior Design Ltd to work in parallel to the architectural Practice providing interior design services for hotels, offices and other building types.
